To Governments

Governments, no matter if they are local, regional, national or transnational, are the key facilitators for the cooperation between research institutions and business initiatives. In addition, governments are the owners of the resources to be used to build relevant infrastructures.

HealthTIES intends to:

  • Align investment policies with the strengths and weaknesses identified during the HealthTIES analyses and with regional and joint action steps defined in the course of the project.
  • Offer the best environment for sharing and/or jointly investing in state-of-the art facilities, such as synchrotrons, clinical imaging centres, clinical trial centres, high throughput DNA sequencing and chemistry and drug development centres.
  • Develop joint education programmes in the four major disease areas defined: cardiovascular diseases, cancer, neurodegenerative diseases and immunology and infectious diseases.
  • Foster business initiatives, synergies, exchanges and job opportunities within the region.
